These are all places I wish I could afford to eat at! Yummy!

This is Anthony's in Spokane that sits right off the Spokane river with an excellent view of the water falls & Gondola's. I'm actually more interested in the building & view than I am of the food. But here's hoping I get to go someday. And I'm sure the food is good too.

I hope you'll find these reviews helpful, insightful, enjoyable, and above all, fair & accurate. The language will always be clean, and the content will be neither a paid endorsement of a business, nor will these reviews serve as a personal vendetta or witch hunt. They are simply my findings, opinions, and (hopefully) balanced reports.

Be warned! I'm a bit picky. I want clean environments, tasty food, and a courteous staff. Along with that I have a plethora of pet peeves concerning the way a restaurant operates & is managed.

The purpose of this blog page is to fairly review family friendly restaurants, cafes, and the like in the Spokane-Coeur d'Alene area from a dad's & former fast-food manager's point a view.

The D.A.D. Rating System

My simple yet effective rating & scoring system breaks down like this. Please note that the breakdown no longer appears in the reviews. It's simply how I base my grading.
Some reviews will only grade on one aspect (i.e. service, taste, quality, cleanliness, etc.) .

Details: What items were ordered & how were they?
1 point for accuracy (was it made right / right item?)
1 point for appearance (how did it look? neat, etc.)
1 point for appeal (how did it taste & was it hot?)

Atmosphere: What was the place & people like?
1 point for crew & management's Appearance
1 point for decore, theme, and upkeep of property
1 point for cleanliness (inside & outside)

Debt: What was the cost, worth, and product condition?
1 point for proper product pricing (should it have this price tag? was it properly portioned)

Service: How was I treated? What was the wait time?
1 point for speed of service
1 point for attitude of staff
1 point for attentiveness to customers needs

The ratings work like this:
A Daddy Don't Rating: A score of 1-4
A Daddy Doubt Rating: A score of 4.5-7.5
A Daddy Do! Rating: A score of 8-10

Half point scores are often given. Example: Burger & Fry Basket; the fries are great, but the burger is tasteless can render a .5 score for the "appeal" section.

Yes, a 10 is possible! I believe if you score 1-10, then a 10 is very possible. It doesn't mean it's the perfect restaurant, it means it was a PERFECT visit. And those are possible!

Suggestions are sometimes added at the bottom of the blog when needed because the goal is to see restaurants improve to the level of a Daddy Do!

Remember: Scores do not transfer from one type of restaurant to another. A 10 for a burger-joint does not translate the same as a 10 for a Steak House.
